Beat Street continues to bridge gaps between students and established arts professionals. Whether a performer at one of our fundraisers or an artist in residence, you can always catch a live art performance of some sort when visiting the gallery.
For many at Beat Street, this workshop will act as a soft introduction to inter-arts. Combining two or more mediums of art expression. In this case, audio and visual. Students will learn how to create short videos they can use as a stand alone piece of work or as projections, sky’s the limit, as we learn how to project on any surface. Once their canvases are mapped they will learn about how to manipulate, simulate depth, and create 3D moving pictures. The software program we will use to study applications and technique will be Resolume. The Resolume license only allows for one user. Resolume will be installed on both computer racks and then daisy chained to the projectors. This work shop will also use the MIDI controllers. This will be instructed by Ofield Williams.

Beat Street takes pride in the musicians, students, and artists alike that we meet along the way. Here you can find some of our favorites hanging in the neighborhood or playing in that studio on Beat Street.
