Beat Street continues to bridge gaps between students and established arts professionals. Whether a performer at one of our fundraisers or an artist in residence, you can always catch a live art performance of some sort when visiting the gallery.
Leading into Fall, Beat Street will chose one of our programs to showcase each month. This fall we use Media Art to look at film making, scene design, and music adaptation. By each months end, our students will have made one short scene. Let’s break it down!
This project is designed to exercise team work by bridging additional gaps between using technology creatively and exploring its abilities in a tactile space. By understanding how scenes are filmed then breaking down mechanically what's required to produce such an affect, we can recreate such an affect simply because we understand the process.
However, not just comprehending how mechanically the scene was made will allow us to recreate it. We will explore the world of Tactile Technology by reverse engineering the method a director may use to create a "bullet time" shot, then use stop motion recording to re create the effect.
